Our friends the alpha-Geeks are hashtag#machinelearning, so we are going to do so too!
You know our love for niftiness at City Mine(d), and the way it translates into analogue computers [our Router, ° 2009>21) and internet of thinkering [Pacco-the smart water quality monitor °2012>16] .
And geekiness with cheekiness.
Our newest endeavour is NOT a machine that learns, NOT even a apparatus that instructs, but it is an excuse for many of us to learn (collectively).
Inspired by analogue model-builders like Bill Phillips of the Phillips machine, or Raymond Hide of the dishpan experiment (or for that matter Friedrich hashtag#Marklin who invented the model train) we set out to build a model of the system that brings food on our plates or clothes in our wardrobe.
By building it, we’re untangling its complexity.
By untangling, we’re better understanding.
And by better understanding it, we might be able to improve.
By keeping things analogue, it is a form of artificial intelligence
In Reverse,
And we’re calling it…

Machine learning
Artificial intelligence in reverse: an analogue mechanical model to collectively untangle everyday urban logistics.
