CAMION: the interactive mechanical logistics model

finding the levers we have

The idea is simple: build a dynamic model of how food ends up on our plates, clothes in our wardrobes, and books on our shelves. This model would function like an analogue computer — with moving parts that replicate the flow of goods, the bottlenecks, and the knobs that we can adjust to make the system run faster, slower, or more smoothly.

By creating this model, we discover how the system works, and perhaps how it could work better. More importantly, we identify which knobs we, as citizens, can actually turn to steer the system in our favour.

But the lessons learned will resonate far beyond — in every densely populated neighbourhood.

Step 1? Meet with as many people as possible to understand how this system is perceived, experienced, and questioned. (ongoing)

Step 2? Build and assemble the CAMION model together
